Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ali Ghafel, and on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Law, under the slogan (Iraqi women are partners in sustainable development), held its cultural symposium (the role of empowering women in advancing the reality of Iraqi women and the challenges they face) in which the assistant teacher lectured. Ibtihal Ghazi Mahdi, a teacher in the private law branch, where the symposium began with an opening speech in which the lecturer spoke about the importance of the role of women in society and the achievement of sustainable development. Empowerment of women: It is (a complex process concerned with creating experiences and material and artistic capabilities that are not provided by social activities for women, as well as creating self-perceptions of women about themselves that involve confidence and courage, making the right decision and opinion, as well as changing the discriminatory view of society against them. Empowerment in this sense is not training, but rather a process Social and psychological, which provides women with the opportunity to contribute to the life of society and enhances their positive roles, whether at home, at work, or in their relationship with others.
